Christ returns to Mt. Seir

Walid Shoebat writes in the quotes below about some interesting comparisons between the events surrounding Christ’s birth and the prophetical events recorded in the bible involved in Christ’s return.

He identifies the Edomites as the enemies of Christ both during his first advent and in the prophetic events to come. Describing the first advent of the person of Christ, he points out that in Matthew, chapter 2, “Christ was a threat to the Edomite king and the Anti-Messiah of his day, Herod,” who as king of Israel had all the babies in Bethlehem slaughtered in an attempt to prevent the advent of a potential usurper: king Jesus.

Shoebat compares that to the soon-coming return of Christ, saying that, “soon, the children born of Idumea (Edom) will seek to destroy the children born of spiritual Israel.” He goes on the say that Numbers 24:15-19 says that Christ vanquishes this threat when he takes possession of Idumea. This describes some of the geopolitical events associated with the approach of Christ’s return.

The conflict is also described, he says, by Rev 12, in which, “a great red dragon” from the heavens stands before a woman in labor “to devour her child as soon as it was born.” But the child is, “caught up unto God, and to his throne,” for this is the birthing of a king destined “to rule all nations with a rod of iron (Rev. 12:1-5).”

So we again see a conflict between two kings. This time the king of the fallen angels, Lucifer, attempts to prevent the advent of a potential usurper, the manchild born of the the bride of Christ (the woman). Like the babe born to Mary 2,000 years ago, this child is destined to rule.

Revelation 12 then directly identifies the dragon as the Devil, and Satan’ and says he/it is cast down to the earth and then proceeds to lead its minions in persecuting the woman who brought forth the babe.

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Shoebat brings this together in the following way; and it is these things that I really want to get to:

It is time therefore to (brace) ourselves for the wave of persecution against the Church first, then just as after Mary’s birth pangs came, the Messiah was delivered, and so it will be, that after the coming birth pangs, the … Messiah shall (defeat and) “possess Idumea” as foretold in Numbers 24. He further unpacks the passage for us.

Mount Seir and the land of Seir (or Idumea) are real places and not some pie in the sky allegory. These (are) references to the land where Esau and his descendants, the Edomites, made their home. This would embrace a great part of Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of not just Islam, but the Antichrist it produced: Muhammad, the world’s leading heresiarch.
