Regarding claims that the Russians hacked the DNC during the 2016 presidential campaign, Patrick Lawrence at The Nation, says that a, “former NSA experts say it wasn’t a hack at all, but a leak—an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system.” Given the evidence in the article, he appears to be correct. The data transfer had to be accomplished by someone on-site. So…
This begs the question – and not surprisingly Lawrence doesn’t seem to notice – was Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s IT staffer, Imran Awan, in a position to access this data? His presence was clearly a major security breach and he was in the habit of blackmailing people, which is probably how he managed to get and/or keep his job. This means he was in the habit of breaching security and accessing private information, and it looks like the tip of an iceberg. Or perhaps Imran and his associates had these jobs in highly sensitive positions due to the influence of large political donors. At any rate, this grave state of affairs reminds me of the woman hidden behind some highly sensitive curtains in the Weiner scandal, and her involvement in the Muslim Brotherhood.
