Medium/Long Term

I think of “investing” as buying some bond or security with the intention of holding it for months or years. “Trading,” on the other hand, might be thought of as buying to hold something for minutes, hours, days, or a few weeks.

Investing and trading require very different approaches. Investing relies more on fundamental analysis: analysis of the “fundamentals” of the business you are buying a share of or a bond from. Trading relies on technical analysis: analysis of charts and statistics such as historical price and volume data.
