A Shudder in the Ship of State


He thought he heard a shudder from deep down in the ship, and he cocked his ear. Nothing. He breathed a small sigh and took another sip from his drink. They certainly had a nice lounge, he thought, and the entertainment was about to begin. Why all these irrational imaginary sounds?
